Privacy in DrivingLingo

You can study with DrivingLingo without creating an account. Your progress is saved in your device's browser. We do not provide user profiles or synchronise study progress across devices. This notice describes how the application currently works.

Study records on your device

DrivingLingo uses your browser's localStorage to remember language preferences, completed lessons, practice results and mistakes to revisit. It also keeps local records of study activity to organise your revision. These learning records stay on the device.

Closing a tab does not erase your progress. A different browser or device has its own storage, so your existing progress will not appear there automatically. Private browsing and browser settings may prevent saving or remove the data when a session ends.

Deleting your local progress

To remove this information, use your browser's website-data or storage settings and select drivinglingo.com. Deleting that site's data removes the progress and preferences stored in that browser. We cannot retrieve them from an account or restore a cloud backup. Clearing browser storage does not remove aggregate statistics already sent to the analytics provider.

Cookieless website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand website visits and improve our pages. It works without cookies and sends page-view information to Vercel. Its aggregate statistics can include the visited page, referral source, device type, browser and approximate location. This is separate from your locally saved answer history.

Our integration removes query parameters from page addresses before sending them to analytics. Vercel explains the information it processes in its Web Analytics privacy documentation. Serving the website also requires our hosting provider to receive requests from your browser; local study storage and website analytics are different functions.

Advertising and accounts

DrivingLingo does not display advertisements. Studying does not require a username, password or user profile. If future features introduce accounts or change how information is handled, we will update this notice to explain those changes.

Privacy contact

This is an explicit placeholder, not a working address. Please do not send personal information to an address guessed from the application's name. The owner must replace this text with a real email before treating this page as a final privacy notice.

Learn the rule, then practise it

Inside the app every lesson teaches the rule with its BOE citation and drills it with exam-style questions.
