What it means

«Señala el lugar desde el que todas las prohibiciones específicas indicadas por señales anteriores de prohibición para vehículos en movimiento dejan de tener aplicación.» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.

It clears at once the specific prohibitions for moving vehicles that you were under. It lifts not just one of them nor only the last: it lifts at once all those in force at that point.

Where you meet it

You see it at the end of a stretch with several prohibitions in a row. Its scope is wider than that of the specific end-of-speed-limit or end-of-overtaking-ban signs (RGC art. 145.2.f).

What you must do

From it on, you no longer apply any of the specific prohibitions for moving vehicles that you were under, for instance a signed 50 limit. The general traffic rules still apply.

Details that count

There are end signs specific to each case: R-501 for the speed limit, R-502 and R-503 for overtaking. R-500 has a wider scope than all of them: it lifts at once all the specific prohibitions for moving vehicles in force at that point, not just the last one nor a single one of them (RGC art. 145.2.f). Mind its name: it lifts specific prohibitions for moving vehicles, not the priority signs, which belong to another class (RGC art. 145.2.a and f).

What it is confused with

It is confused with R-502 and R-503, the specific end signs. R-502 lifts the no-overtaking ban; R-503 the lorry no-overtaking ban; R-500 lifts all of them at once. And it is not R-4, «End of priority», which belongs to the priority signs and lifts no prohibition.
