What it means

«Peligro por la proximidad de un tramo con circulación frecuente de ciclistas.» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.

It tells you that bicycles are often found on the road along that stretch. It is addressed to you, not to the cyclist, and does not imply any specific crossing.

Where you meet it

You see it before the stretch where cyclists are habitually found on the road. It is the «people are often here» triangle for cycles, in the same vein as P-20b for pedestrians.

What you must do

When approaching cyclists on the road, moderate your speed and do not overtake them straight away (RGC art. 46.b).

Details that count

Article 46 treats pedestrians (46.a) and animals (46.c) in almost identical terms: moderate your speed when they are on the part of the road you are using or their sudden entry can reasonably be foreseen. With cyclists, 46.b demands it on approaching cycles in motion, at junctions and near roads reserved exclusively for cycles, and it does not let you overtake them straight away. As a class P sign, it flags a risk that is hard to see in time and does not regulate (RGC arts. 144 to 146).

What it is confused with

It is confused with P-20b, «Pedestrians», and with P-21a, «Children». All three are «people are often here» triangles, but each warns of a different user: pedestrians in general, children in a place they frequent, cyclists on a stretch with habitual cycle traffic. None signals a specific «crossing».
