What it means

«Prohibición de acceso a toda clase de vehículos.» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.

The sign bans access to every kind of vehicle, without distinguishing by type or weight, and that includes bicycles. The law limits its effect to whoever meets it head-on, in the direction of their own travel (RGC art. 145.2.b).

Where you meet it

You see it at the entrance to a street or road that you may not enter. It applies from the exact cross-section where it stands, not before, unless a supplementary panel gives another distance (RGC art. 145.4). It is the model no-entry sign: the others in the series close the way only to one category of vehicle.

What you must do

Do not enter with any vehicle. Check for a panel below it: with «EXCEPT MOTORCYCLES», for instance, the ban does not affect anyone on a motorbike, so read the panel before deciding (RGC arts. 137 and 146.2.e).

Details that count

«The sign applies from 100 m before» is true only if a panel says so: by default it applies from where it stands (RGC arts. 145.3 and 145.4). And remember how the law divides things: a no-entry ban closes the way to a category of users, while a passage restriction, such as for weight or height, does so by a vehicle dimension (RGC art. 145.2.b and c).

What it is confused with

It is confused with R-107 and R-105, which ban access only to one category of vehicle. R-101 is the one that closes it to all, bicycles included (RGC art. 145.2.b).
