What it means
«Prohibición de acceso a toda clase de vehículos destinados al transporte de mercancías si su masa máxima autorizada es superior a la indicada en la señal, entendiéndose como tales los camiones, tractocamiones y furgones o furgonetas con mayor masa autorizada que la indicada en la señal. […]» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.
The sign bans access to goods vehicles whose maximum authorised mass is above the figure it shows: lorries, tractor units and vans. The official text says so in so many words: it bans access even when they travel empty.
Where you meet it
You see it at the entrance to a road closed to heavy goods traffic. The figure, in tonnes, refers to the vehicle's maximum authorised mass, not the weight it carries at that moment.
What you must do
Compare the figure on the sign with your vehicle's maximum authorised mass, not its load. Do not stretch it to others: a bus is not a vehicle intended for goods transport, so this sign is not the one that restricts it (RGC art. 145.2.b).
Details that count
Like every no-entry sign, the law limits its effect to whoever meets it head-on, in the direction of their own travel, and from the place where it stands (RGC art. 145.2.b). If it carries a panel with a vehicle silhouette, that restricts the sign to that category alone: it does not extend it to other equally heavy ones nor leave it as an ornament (RGC art. 137.2).
What it is confused with
It is confused with R-201, «Weight limit», and with R-205, «Height limit». R-107 is a no-entry prohibition, which closes the way to a category of users; R-201 is a passage restriction by a vehicle dimension: its laden weight (RGC art. 145.2.b and c).
