What it means

«Zona de estacionamiento de duración limitada y obligación para el conductor de indicar, de forma reglamentaria, la hora del comienzo del estacionamiento. […]» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.

It marks a zone where you may park, but with a time limit, and obliges you to show the start time as the regulation says.

Where you meet it

You see it at the entrance to the regulated zone. A panel reading «2 h», for example, shows the maximum authorised parking time, according to the catalogue (RGC art. 137.2).

What you must do

When you park, show the start time as the regulation requires and respect the maximum time displayed. Read the timetable too: the panel may limit the restriction to certain hours. Check what the addition says: with a «2 h» panel under the sign, the maximum authorised time is two hours, and the timetable may limit when the restriction applies.

Details that count

How to read its additions. The maximum authorised time, the timetable in force and, where relevant, whether parking is paid may appear on the sign itself, on a notice or on a supplementary panel (RD 465/2025 catalogue). A panel with a timetable limits the sign in time: outside those hours, it does not apply (RGC art. 137.2). It belongs, like R-307 and R-308, to the class of «other prohibition or restriction signs» (RGC art. 145.2.d).

What it is confused with

It is confused with R-308, «No parking». R-308 bans parking on that side; R-309 does not ban parking but limits it in time and obliges you to show the start time. And it is not S-17, the information sign that marks a place where parking is authorised.
