What it means
«Peligro por la proximidad de una curva peligrosa hacia la izquierda.» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.
The sign warns of a dangerous bend to the left. A single curved stroke warns of one bend; two linked strokes would warn of a succession. On bend signs the final letter gives the direction: «b» is left.
Where you meet it
It appears before the bend. Once past the sign, in the bend itself and its approaches, bans set by the regulation and not by the plate apply: no overtaking on bends with reduced visibility and no stopping (RGC arts. 87.1.a and 94.1.a).
What you must do
Moderate your speed and do not overtake. In a bend with reduced visibility you may only overtake if the carriageway separates the directions and the manoeuvre fits inside your own direction: the exception is geometric, not a matter of perception (RGC art. 87.1.a). Stopping is also banned, and where you cannot stop you cannot park either (RGC art. 94).
Details that count
The bans inside the bend are set by the regulation, not by the plate. Note also three words the exam keeps apart: a halt, imposed by traffic or by a rule, is neither stopping nor parking and their bans do not apply to it; a stop is a voluntary immobilisation of under two minutes without leaving the vehicle; parking is any other (TRLSV Annex I, concepts 80 to 82).
What it is confused with
It is confused with P-14b, «Dangerous bends, first to the left»: same letter, different warning. P-13b announces a single bend; P-14b a succession of bends close together, the first one to the left. The letter only gives the direction of the first bend, not of all of them.
