What it means

«Peligro por la proximidad de cruce con una línea de tranvía, que tiene prioridad de paso.» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.

The sign warns that a crossing with a tram line is near, and the official text itself adds that the tram has priority of passage. The reason is practical: it runs on rails and cannot swerve or brake like a car.

Where you meet it

You meet it before the crossing with the tram track, where the tram goes first. The priority of rail vehicles does not depend on the side from which they approach (RGC art. 57.1.b).

What you must do

Moderate your speed and give way to the tram. The duty not to force the priority vehicle becomes sharper with a tram, because it cannot brake suddenly or change lane (RGC art. 58.1).

Details that count

At an unsigned crossing, article 57.1.b gives rail vehicles priority over any other user, and the general duty to give way in article 58.1 grows sharper with them. Another rule that comes up alongside this sign: stopping on tram tracks, or so close to them that it hinders trams, is banned, and the ban depends on that effect on the tram, not on a fixed timetable (RGC art. 94.1.e).

What it is confused with

It is confused with P-5, «Movable bridge». Both are triangles announcing a point where you are not the one who goes first, but the reason differs: in P-6 a rail vehicle has priority; in P-5 the bridge can be raised or swung and cut the way.
