What it means

«Peligro por la proximidad de una glorieta con circulación en el sentido indicado por las flechas.» RD 465/2025, Annex I of the RGC (BOE-A-2025-12199), Spanish original.

The sign warns of an approaching roundabout, with traffic flowing in the direction the arrows show. It announces the roundabout before you can see it; it is not the sign that makes you give way on entry.

Where you meet it

It appears on the road before the roundabout. It is a warning triangle, so it only warns (RGC art. 144.1).

What you must do

Reduce your speed and get ready to give way to whoever is already on the ring, who has priority over those joining (RGC art. 57.1.c). Giving way is not just spotting a gap: you must not force anyone on the ring to react abruptly (RGC art. 58.1).

Details that count

In a two-lane roundabout, the right (outer) lane is for those taking one of the first exits, and the left (inner) lane for those continuing past the halfway point of the ring. Leaving from the inner lane means crossing the outer one, giving way to anyone already on it (RGC art. 57.1.c). And a precision: Spanish law does not require signalling that you will continue round the roundabout; the left indicator does not carry that meaning.

What it is confused with

It is confused with P-3, «Traffic lights», because both announce a nearby junction with special control. The difference is what controls it: a roundabout with its circulating direction, or a traffic light. And it is not R-402, which is a mandatory sign inside the roundabout.
